Character in a Pinch: A Pre-Gen Player Character Ready for D&D Adventure

Welcome to the Inn’s latest addition to our reoccurring series catalog… Character in a Pinch. When you want a character with a little more backstory than the usual pre-gens you find on the internet, but don’t have the time to do it yourself. This particular entry starts us off with a great go-to in the adventurer pantheon, the Dwarven Cleric. Feel free to copy this character word-for-word and stat-for-stat, or use it as a jumping point. The choice is yours. Without further adieu, I introduce you to Thalia.

Thalia Ironheart

Backstory:

Thalia Ironheart hails from the proud clan of Ironpeak, deep within the mountains. Raised in the teachings of Moradin, the dwarven god of creation, she was groomed to become a cleric, a healer and protector of her people. However, an unexpected vision from her deity compelled her to leave her home and embark on a pilgrimage.

Driven by this divine calling, Thalia roams the lands, seeking to understand the significance of her vision and to spread the teachings of Moradin. Along her journey, she has encountered ancient crypts, mysterious cults, and even signs of an impending darkness threatening the very balance of the world. As she walks the path of a wandering cleric, Thalia's presence attracts both allies and adversaries, and her destiny becomes intertwined with the fate of the realms.

Dungeon Masters, take note: Thalia's quest for understanding and her connection to her ancestral home provide ample opportunities for adventure hooks. Whether it's uncovering the secrets of a long-forgotten dwarven artifact or thwarting a cult's dark ritual, her journey is ripe for exploration and discovery.

Bonds:

Thalia has an unbreakable bond with her ancestral home, the mountain stronghold of Ironpeak. She carries a family heirloom, a small locket containing a lock of her grandmother's beard, a reminder of the dwarven values she upholds.

Ideals:

Devotion. Thalia is devoted to the principles of her deity, seeing her role as a cleric as a sacred duty to bring healing and light to the world.

Flaws:

Stubbornness. Thalia's steadfast nature can sometimes make her resistant to alternative viewpoints, leading to potential conflicts within the party.
