Pop Culture Character Creations: American Horror Story

American Horror Story is a popular horror anthology series that has captured the imaginations of many viewers. With its unique characters and terrifying storylines, it's no wonder that fans of the series might want to incorporate elements from the show into their Dungeons and Dragons campaigns. In this character stat block, we'll be creating a character based off of a popular American Horror Story character, complete with backstory and abilities.

Name: Tate Langdon

Class: Warlock Race: Half-Elf Background: Haunted One

Ability Scores:

Strength: 8

Dexterity: 14

Constitution: 12

Intelligence: 10

Wisdom: 10

Charisma: 18

Skills: Deception, Intimidation, Arcana, Investigation

Equipment: Pact of the Blade (a magical axe), a book of shadows, leather armor, and a set of thieves' tools.

Spells:

1st Level: Eldritch Blast, Hex

2nd Level: Invisibility, Suggestion

3rd Level: Fireball, Counterspell

Features and Traits:

  • Dark One's Blessing: When Tate reduces a creature to 0 hit points, he gains temporary hit points equal to his Charisma modifier + his Warlock level (minimum of 1).

  • Awakened Mind: Tate can telepathically communicate with any creature within 30 feet of him that can understand a language.

  • Otherworldly Patron: Tate's patron is a powerful demon who gives him access to dark magic in exchange for his soul.

Tate Langdon is a complex character from American Horror Story who would make a fascinating addition to any Dungeons and Dragons campaign. As a Warlock with a dark backstory and powerful abilities, Tate brings a sense of mystery and danger to the table. With his Pact of the Blade, book of shadows, and set of thieves' tools, Tate is prepared for any situation. Whether he's using his charisma to deceive or intimidate his enemies, or unleashing powerful spells like Fireball and Counterspell, Tate is a force to be reckoned with.
